When people phone me, they are going direct message and the phone is not ringing.

It could be one of two things:

  1. Do Not Disturb: Use Do Not Disturb on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
  2. Silence Unknown Callers: Detect and block spam phone calls - Apple Support
