Unable to access WSJ subscription from News due to auto filled password

As two previous threads have pointed out, there seems to be a problem in the iOS News app that if you ever change your WSJ credentials you can no longer access articles from News. All you get is “Subscription not current” with no way to enter any credentials. Changing auto fill settings for passwords makes no difference.

Clicking on "Already a subscriber" gets you to a screen that says "Subscription not current" with no means to enter any credentials. The WSJ app, meanwhile, shows the articles fine. There is apparently an embedded browser in the News app that has some kind of auto-fill that contains previous credentials with no way to update them.
