Location Services not working on iPhone

My Iphone11 Pro got problems with Location Service after updating to the latest IOS 16.6. Even if I try to reset Location Service, restart apps or restart the device. Seems that all my apps that using Location Service fail to get location and get stuck. For example, Weather App, Yr App (another weather app) , and Google Map. Please consider fix this error ASAP.

My husband, daughter and I all updated to iOS 17 and things appear to be working normally. I'm not celebrating just yet, as we've been working before with some random "fix" and then have lost location after a day or 2. I'll report back if things change. While this is encouraging, it's super frustrating to not know what happened and why.

Everything is working for our 3 phones that had the 16.6 location issue after we updated to iOS 17 on Sept. 18. We have to re-log in to many apps and go adjust some settings back to where we had them, but other than that we are back on track.

I am having this same issue on iPhone 13 after the 17.3.1 update. It is driving me nuts! Maps and weather are intermittently showing in the list under location services, so I can't update to always when using and widgets. I keep trying to fix it thinking I must have something wrong but no matter what I do it asks me every time if I want to allow my location and now it is happening on my watch! Please fix this!

This happened to me too. My parents couldn't see my location after updating to one of the newer IOS updates. I took it into my local Verizon store and they got it back working in less than 3 minutes.

The associate said to do the following:

Settings > Click your name at the top > Find My > Toggle the "Share My Location" off and on to reset it. You may have to turn your phone off and back on to complete the process. I did this with my Mom's phone and it worked as well.

This did NOT work for me. I still do NOT have "Precise Location" available and/or working on my "Find My" app. even when activated in the settings. I have other apps, like WAZE and Google Maps, that are working perfectly fine.

My phone is: SE 2022 with iOS 17.5.1

Did apple update something to fix this and break other things? I'm oncall for a fortune 20 company, and can't find my iphone, which has my security token on it, and my apple watch is finding no devices. Since MS Auth decided they didn't want to support auth via apple watch, I'm in trouble.

I'm going to have to move to android if they can't keep this working. All these companies refusing to work together, makes doing just about anything near to impossible in a reliable way.

I spoke with someone in IT a while ago who told me I should never update software on my devices. Reason being your device already comes with software that is compatible with it. Updating a newer version of software onto your phone will always cause issues because there are differences that will make it incompatible with your phone capabilities. The whole point of them getting you to download a new software with “cool new features” is so that your devices begin running slow and need to be updated as well. My last few iPhones I never updated software on and never had any issues.

Read all the posts and tried everything -

off & on location

find my phone off them on in settings

restart

deleted map app and re added

THEN noticed there was a find my app, I clicked on that, the app opened and it showed all the people share location with and it said where they all were

got out of app and everything worked!!!!

hope this post might help someone else

Try this: turn off Stolen Device Protection then switch off and on Find my Services. (Can then go back and turn on Stolen Device Protection if you want). No idea why it worked for me, but after 2 unsuccessful trips to Apple and 1 to AT&T troubleshooting, I found this worked. I was going to trade in my otherwise good phone, but once I turned off Stolen Device Protection to determine trade in value, location services started working!
