Location Services not working on iPhone

My Iphone11 Pro got problems with Location Service after updating to the latest IOS 16.6. Even if I try to reset Location Service, restart apps or restart the device. Seems that all my apps that using Location Service fail to get location and get stuck. For example, Weather App, Yr App (another weather app) , and Google Map. Please consider fix this error ASAP.

Thanks for your reply. Fortunately, I didn’t try it yet. And yea, seems like it doesn’t happen to all devices. May I ask if all you have any setting in common with me that possibly caused the problem. Something like Family sharing ( I enabled it to sharing with my kids).

I have been lucky so far with not opening Find My on iPhone still. Weird that it helps my phone. Been over a day now. Carplay also working with no issues since not opening Find My. Hopefully will keep working until fix is found. Using ipad for Find My as of now.

2 weeks since the factory reset and everything is working fine. It even seems to have resolved a problem with car play where Google maps would sometimes just freeze. Currently on holiday and have been using the phone to navigate car journeys and mountain hikes with no problem at all. Just make sure you’ve backed up all your WhatsApp/Signal messages or any similar apps you use, and back up your phone to iCloud before you do any reset. Then you can restore your phone from backup and should keep everything.

I have GPS issues on my 13 pro max due to a iOS 16 update from a couple of months ago. My phone went into an Apple Store where a member of staff did their thing. Phone still has the issue. I can no longer use Waze or Google Maps to reach destinations and had to go back to using Tom Tom via its device on my windscreen. It’s like Apple is aware of the GPS error it created but don’t seem to care about fixing its problem. Cheers for that Apple. 😠

I am having the same issues, however tried the suggested fixes (Find my and rest network settings). I had luck for about 30 minutes and then lost location services again. This has been going on since the beginning of August and so frustrated, I have spent hours with Apple Tier 2 support who is takign this to the engineers but does not seem to come back with anything of value to solve the issue. I assume this is when the ios16.6 was installed on my phone, strange that it is only affecting a small about of users. My wife has the same issue, but my two kids, not.

I cannot access UBER and other third party apps where I need use my location to operate, but others do work and show my location. Apple Maps does not work, but Google Maps is working.

Apple sent me a new phone, that did not work, we installed it as a new phone, without my data, so it was not the data coming over, the only thing I used to set up the new phone was my apple ID, could have something happened with my specific Apple ID and the 16.6 release?

was hoping 16.6.1 was to solve this, but no luck.

again, I have spent probably 20 hours of time on with apple support and at the local apple store. still nothing.

maybe time to move away from this platform.

I need help.

Yes, you are not alone. Many users suffered from this bug. It happened after upgrading to IOS16.6. I’m not sure whether Apple support team can figure out the cause of problem yet but I think they already aware of this problem. I’m very frustrated of this problem for a month now.

EB30 - are you by a microwave? Love it! My phone is currently with the Apple Geniuses having its display replaced, as the display houses a bunch of GPS sensors. Last week they replaced all of the interior hardware components and location worked for 1 day then stopped. I'm fine with them trying to replace the display, but I am not hopeful, mainly because EB30 said they had their phone replaced (so new display) and still had problem AND it still doesn't explain why my husband and daughter are experiencing the same issue. When I get it back this afternoon, I will update to iOS 17 and see if somehow that resets something. Like EB30, I feel like 16.6 somehow corrupted something with my Apple ID. The Geniuses didn't think that because that's just an ID that houses/stores or is linked to your data. BUT, what the heck is it then?

Thanks for your info. I’m wonder if IOS 17 will work with many of my apps especially those disappeared from the App store. Please keep me updated if the IOS17 can really fix the location service bug. I’m starting to fear the IOS upgrading.
