Upgrade to Ventura directly from Big Sur

I have a 2017 21.5 inch iMac and I would like to upgrade to Ventura. Currently I have Big Sur. Is it ok to upgrade directly to Ventura by skipping Monterrey? Software Updates in Systems Preferences is not working at the present time. That has been an ongoing problem that occasionally goes away, especially if Apple releases security updates. Any thoughts on the latter as well as how I should proceed with updating my OS. Thanks!

I upgraded to Ventura with no problem. Thanks again for your response. It seems a bit jerky and slow sometimes but so far everything I have done works. One interesting thing the new OS found was some sites/entities had added items that can run in the background. Systems Preferences said that I can manage this in Login Items Settings so I did. I had no idea that was something that would/could occur. Thank you, Apple!
