How can I change the administration password? I can't remember the original

I need the administration password to install something, but I can remember what it is, how can I find out my password or change my password?

Yes it’s my desktop but not the user password, the administrator password, do you know how to reset that one? And thank you for answering my questions

If you only have one user, you should be admin capable. It would be your password.

Open System Settings, Users & Groups and look at your user name. Does it indicate Admin? If it doesn't, do you have another user on that Mac?
