Trying to rent a movie on Apple TV

I can’t rent a movie on Apple TV. It says click button twice. When I do nothing happens. Very frustrating.

Ok, thank you.

On iPad, in the TV app (or iTunes Store app), you would select a movie, then click the Rent button, then confirm the purchase through Face ID (if you have set that up), or else Touch ID (other models), or else through entering your Apple ID password.

  • The Double Click to Rent message is about the side (top?) button on the iPad, to start the Face ID scan. When double clicking the indicated button, hold the iPad to your face as you would do otherwise to unlock the iPad with Face ID, then wait for the Face ID symbol to change into a “success” checkmark. Then the transaction is final.

On what device are you trying to rent a movie?

Is this for the Apple TV box? If so, which model? [1] [2]

Is this for the Apple TV app on a different Apple device? If so, which device and model?

Is this for the Apple TV app on a third party device? If so, which device and model?
