In the US, battery service is typically US$250, all parts and labor included.
You get a genuine Apple battery, and in most cases a 'like new' keyboard and trackpad.
Every Apple service comes with a 90 day warranty. That sounds short for a battery, but if it lasts 90 days, it will likely last a good ling time (not just 90 days.)
Not quite $300. To be expected I guess.
