How do I delete an app off my MacBook?

How did you get the app onto your Mac?

App Store -- Drag it into the Trash and empty.

Drag & Drop from a disk image -- Drag it to the Trash and Empty

Installer -- Use the developer's uninstaller app or instructions.

Built-in macOS App -- As noted, you cannot delete it.

As added info, you cannot delete any of the default macOS apps. Only 3rd party apps can be deleted. Also, before you delete a 3rd party app, check with their website to see if they have an uninstall app or procedure before just dragging into the trash.

What happened when you tried? Where are you dragging them from? Are you starting in the Application folder?

There are some apps still out there, generally ones that aren't in the App Store, that require either an uninstaller or some specific method. Check the developer's website.

Excellent point, Randall. Bit of an afternoon slump here.

In the future use a free application on Mac App Store Delete Apps to delete it's preference, and all the parts of application you want to delete!

Have you tried dragging it to the trash?
