Can we install itunes directly on external SSD drive T7 or can we put a backup path onto T7 drive ?

Due to limited space on my Mac mini, I want to take a backup of iphone via itunes onto the external drive high speed t7 drive. Is this config possible in itunes.

The best official solution is creating partition for TimeMachine Backup on that disc. Mac TM backup includes your iPhone backup.
