There are a few reasons why the screen of your iPhone 14 might remain dark when you take it out of your pocket. One possibility is that the Always-On Display feature is turned off. This feature allows the screen to show a limited amount of information, such as the time and date, even when the phone is locked. To turn on Always-On Display, go to Settings > Display & Brightness > Always On Display.
Another possibility is that the Auto-Brightness feature is turned on. This feature adjusts the brightness of the screen depending on the ambient light. If you are in a dark environment, the screen might be too dim to see when you take it out of your pocket. To turn off Auto-Brightness, go to Settings > Display & Brightness > Auto-Brightness.
