These are the steps you can perform in such a situation:--> If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch is lost or stolen,

and/or:--> Use the Find My app to locate a missing device or item,

and/or:--> If Find My is offline or not working

and/or:--> If Find My iPhone or Find My iPad isn't enabled on your missing device

Regards and best of luck.

If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch is lost or stolen - Apple Support

If you can track the phone, let law enforcement deal with recovering it. Don't travel to where criminals gather.

Note that if you carry out step #7 (removing your phone from your list of trusted devices), it will clear the Activation Lock set in step #2. That would let the thieves reset your phone and "make it their own" – so you might not want to do that.

If someone contacts you saying they are from Apple and want to reunite you with your phone, don't fall for it. This will be a "phishing" message or call from a thief or fence, trying to get you to unbrick the phone (so they can profit from the theft). Or trying to scam you in other ways.
