Camera is not a genuine apple product

Today my phone camera stopped working, I restarted it and a message saying that the phone couldn't determine if the camera was not a genuine apple product, was not working properly, or was incomplete. I've read other discussions on this a year ago but is it normal for it to happen this late into updates. Ive only had my phone for a year and never had anything replace on it. Ive reset so many times and tried every fix on the internet and nothing seems to work. Is it someting that apple will do something about or do i have to pay to get a whole new phone. I cant afford to pay out for a whole new phone. Plz somebody help
