iPad hardware issue

I had given my iPad for charging port change due to some defect over years. The service provider after fixing a new one has detected some firmware issue and asking me that Apple support is asking for invoice to delink the Apple ID to support and repair this !


how true can this be ? How will this help ?

You will want to discuss the details of this with Apple Support.


Removal of Activation Lock is a common part of a repair, or of a swap with a replacement.


That removal requires the Apple ID and password holding the lock, or proof of original purchase sufficient to convince Apple of ownership.

That’s ~unanswerable. Not from here in scenic East Cupcake Harbor. Your repair provider could be anywhere from one known for wonderful and expeditious and inexpensive repairs, to one mostly known for fraud or theft or damage. You’ll need to investigate the reputation of the repair provider yourself.
