System Data showing over 600GB

My Mac doesn't have a lot of free space- which makes no sense at all. I have almost everything on external hard drives. Today, in an effort to save space, I moved my iMovie library and my Final Cut Pro library to my externals as well (containing a total of 100GB), and it did not free up any space on my Mac. This makes no sense.

Hi,

Try to start up in Safe mode, then normal boot if it could solve your issue.

Use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support

If it doesn't help, run First Aid of DiskUtility and see if it could solve the issue.
