Apple TV+ Free Trial Not Working

I am logged into the Apple TV+ app on my TV and have activated a free week trial. The status of the free trial is active under "Manage Subscriptions." However, I cannot watch any of the content, I am only offered a "free episode." When I select "Get Apple TV+" the app tells me that I already have an active subscription, yet the content still will not play.

Hi team, I'm using Apple streaming service on web, don't have any iOS tech. I've subscribed for the 7 day free trial and can't watch anything.


I always says I need to subscribe a d when I try to sign in, it tells me I'm already subscribed. I understand free trials are to test the platform out, not just the content, but the streaming service. How the UX feels, how personalised is the content algorithm etc... Right now I'm off to a bumpy start.


How can I solve this? Or just unsubscribe to avoid a charge at the end of the trial.

Issue was not resolved.

If you seek assistance, then please describe your device and model, how you tried to sign up, if you had redeemed an offer before, if you qualify for an extended trial through a special offer, if you have an already working Apple ID with payment method, or if you created a new Apple ID.

What issue did you run in to? What happened differently than expected? Did you get an error message? What did it say exactly?


Even tried to sign up for a subscription

You would need to sign up for the Apple TV+ subscription, to get access to the Apple TV+ catalog content. No access without that. Getting the free trial for new subscribers includes signing up.

It sounds like you're having an issue accessing content with Apple TV+ using your free trial. If so, check the steps below to make sure you're viewing content that is eligible and you have a valid payment method on file. You can also find the information below here: Get Apple TV+ - Apple Support


"How to get Apple TV+


You can subscribe to Apple TV+ at tv.apple.com. Or subscribe in the Apple TV app on an Apple device, smart TV, or streaming device that's compatible with the Apple TV app. Learn which streaming devices are compatible.


Go to Apple TV+

  1. Open the Apple TV app. If you're using an eligible Apple device, a message might ask you to to redeem your Apple TV+ promotion.
  2. If you can't redeem your promotion, make sure that you're eligible.
  3. Select the Apple TV+ Originals tab.
  4. Select Sign In and Start Free Trial. Or you might see a Get Apple TV+ button or Start Free Trial button.
  5. Sign in with the Apple ID and password that you use to make purchases.* If you donʼt have an Apple ID, select Create New Apple ID, then follow the steps to create one. Forgot your Apple ID?
  6. If asked, confirm your billing information and add a valid payment method. Then select Confirm. If asked, agree to the terms and conditions."
