If it is a new drive that is pre-formatted with NTFS, the Mac won't be able to write to it.

Snow Leopard's last release was 10.6.8, well over 10 years ago. Connect a USB cable to the drive and then connect it to the computer and it should be seen in Finder. If you cannot see it in Finder then please write a better description of what you are experiencing so we can help you out.
Thanks you S.O.C. That is exactly what I was looking for- A push in the right direction. I'm an old man and a old fashioned composer. Composing actually gets easier the older you get; however, my next goal is to find some Eyewear so that I can see the computer screen.
