I've been using an iMac 27" Quad-Core Intel i7 (late 2013) as a target display with my MacBook Pro 13" (2018) 02.7 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7 for over 5 years. It's worked fine but this week it has stopped reconising connecting when I press 'command' + 'f2'. There's obvious no way to check anything in the settings. Any pointers?

This is just a backup monitor in our spare office, I have a proper monitor that I work on normally.
I have used this exact same configuration for some time now, the only recent update was security-related on the Macbook.
Surely if the hardware is okay then why would a software update mess things up?

But it was working with these setting as I read his/her comment. Anyway Target Display Mode is old technology, so it would be better to get new monitor for Dano1971's MacBook Pro.
