ensuring there is no virus on IPAD

I got a pop up saying my iPad was infected and not to shut it done or reboot it. I closed out the window and it appears to be functioning normally. Is there a way to ensure it has not gotten spyware or an other virus on it?

All such messages are scams presented by criminals. Close the offending page and avoid sites that are involved in such bogus advertising tactics. Do not interact with the message or the sender. Do not call any number presented. Do not download anything based on such bogus messages.
