As the question says, do I have to set up an appointment to purchase an iphone or any product or can I just walk in store and purchase a product?

You can walk in, but an appointment would be advised if you are shopping on a weekend when the stores are most crowded and the wait may be considerable.
Things are going to be extra busy for the next few weeks with the intro of the new iPhone as well.
