email home folder full

my mail shuts down because it says the home folder is full

Is your hard drive full?


Verify your Storage:

Boot into Recovery Mode. (Silicon Chip or Intel Clip): Then, using Disk Utility, see if the Hard Drive is full. If so, you may need to clear quite a bit of space.

I assume you're using Apple's Mail app.


Perhaps your web service has a limit on accumulated emails. If so, you can't accept any more.


I suggest you login to the web email account and check if your Inbox is full and/or exceeds a limit. You'll have to inquire with the web service if there is a limit or not.


If you Mac user Home folder is full, that implies your disk is full. What size disk do you have and how much space on it is unused?
