I have fall detection set up on my iwatch but when i feel nothing happened. Why?

I fell on a hardwood floor, my watch arm hit the floor first and yet my watch did nothing. It never registered the fall or called 911.

I’m nervous I’ll fall again and it won’t work. I’ve checked ALL the settings and they’re all on correctly.

Can anyone help explain why not and how to get it to work??? I’m nervous.
