Can I use my @icloud email address as my Apple ID email?

I heard that I am not allowed to use my @icloud email address as my Apple ID email. True? Apple’s support article on this subject says nothing about that.

Hi there, See this information from this apple support article Change your Apple ID - Apple Support

If you try to change your Apple ID to an @icloud.com email address that was created within the last 30 days, you will be asked to try again later.
