My Apple 4K remote touchpad is not working properly. I charged the remote but still have the problem. It doesn't want to move right/left or left/right. Will not let me select "settings" and will jump downs when moving up/down.

Remote would not let me get to System. I called Apple Support and device need to be rebooted. Then use the remote to turn off for 15 seconds and turn back on. Everything worked fine. Support advise if it happens again to contact them referencing service number, as remote may need to be replaced.
I did download/upadte to OS 17.0

If you haven't yet updated to TVOS 17 that may be a good idea, and a reboot for good measure. If that doesn't help then you should contact Apple support.
