iTunes IOS 17 not showing hidden purchases on music or videos

I had hidden some of the music I had purchased to clean up my library. Since I upgraded to IOS 17. I can’t go into iTunes and unhide my purchased music. The only thing that shows up are apps that I have deleted. Does anyone know how to get the music back in IOS 17?

Same here, phoned apple support they couldn’t help. Go to iTunes on a PC and go to your account and then click on manage hidden purchases, unhide everything. They will appear in purchased music on your iPhone. Try downloading, if you can’t download them sign out of your Apple ID on your phone and resign. It worked for me. For this not happen again, don’t delete songs from library, instead remove download which means song don’t get hidden but will appear on the album always and you can re-download it anytime.

Hope this helps.

Hello ya'll,

I think I figured it out.

** Go to Settings/Music make sure Show Apple Music and Show All Purchases are both set as ON ( the switch next to them should show as the color green )

** Now go to the Music App on your Ipad/Iphone now I turned my Ipad sideways to

landscape mode

** On the left seek out the Search Button and click it. Then on top right is a red symbol that looks like a person shape with a circle around it.. at least mine lol.. might be your photo or whatever you use as your Apple Main Account Art.

** Click that symbol and it should pull up Your account but a minimalistic (small)version .. mine says things like add money to account, redeem gift code etc.

** At the bottom of this mini account page it should say Account Settings, click that

** Now you should see a normal account page that has the Show Hidden Purchases

click it.. Now it might take a minute to appear on screen, I had to do it 4 times or so..

when you see your hidden songs, click the ones you want, then jump over to the

Itunes app and you should see them downloading... and one by one appearing in your Music App again.. Happy Halloween from Texas.. Laters

In the past, I was absolutely able to unhide purchases from the iTunes app itself, as well as from the general Apple ID settings.

This current situation, where unhiding is limited to the Music app, only started when I upgrade to iOS 17.

I suspect it's a bug and not intentional.

First of all, it makes no sense to limit the functionality in the iTunes app and Apple ID settings to "purchased apps", especially considering that "purchased apps" are almost nonexistent (most apps are free with in-app purchases). Second of all, the caption for the button in iOS broadly says "Unhide purchases that you have previously hidden," which sounds like all purchases. If the functionality was supposed to be limited to purchased apps, it would say so.

But here's a problem you're going to encounter if you try to point out the bug. Many people won't believe you. Apple's official FAQ has always mistakenly stated that it's impossible to unhide purchases from iOS. People will keep pointing to that and tell you you're wrong. But in reality, the FAQ is wrong. As previously mentioned, iOS itself contracts the FAQ by having a button that explicitly states it's for the purposes of "Unhid[ing] purchases that you have previously hidden." Second of all, before iOS 17, I personally unhide dozens of songs by using iOS. You'll need to convince people that the FAQ is mistaken before they'll acknowledge the bug.

Yes, we know that hidden purchases are no longer in iTunes and that you have to go to the music app. That's what we're complaining about. As I noted above, it makes no sense to limit the "unhide" function in the iTunes app and Apple ID settings to "purchased apps", especially considering that "purchased apps" are almost nonexistent. Also, the caption for the button in Apple ID settings says: "Unhide purchases that you have previously hidden." There's no limit or qualifier in that statement, so this suggests you can unhide any and all hidden purchases, not just hidden apps. If the functionality was supposed to be limited to purchased apps, it would say so.
