Updated to Sonoma and have numbers at all folders on screen
Numbers all over screen next to folders etc, will include photo, no idea how to get rid of them but really distracting.

So I contacted my local Apple business department, this is what they told me to do,
"Try going to Settings > Accessibility > Voice Control and see if it’s switched on? There’s a setting in there where you can turn on a numbered overlay."
I didn't have the number overlay switched on, I switched off Voice Control as I don't use it and the numbers have disappeared. Hope this helps you.

Me too!
Update. Yep, settings, accessibility, voice control OFF; that worked.
Figured it out. You have to turn off Voice Control under System "Preferences" > "Accessibility" > "Voice Control".
We probably had it on before Sonoma, but it didn't have the number stuff in the previous versions. At least, that's what I guess.
I had the same issue. Followed about guidance and it worked and removed the numbers.
This worked for me.
Thank you :-)
That worked. Thank you so much. It was very irritating. Not sure what you meant about the number overlay but as soon as I hit Settings>Accessibility>Voice Control and switched it off the annoying numbers disappeared.
Job done - thanks again.
Just updated to Sonoma and have the same issue - can't see the point of it and, as you say, it's very distracting and gets in the way of things - let's hope there's an option to hide this in a future update.

Yes, this issue is VERY irritating. No guidance on how to fix it so far. Come on Apple Tech; please resolve this.
