Apple Mail

I use apple mail. I generally just open mail from the icon at the bottom of my screen on my imac. When I set up a new mailbox in my account that mailbox does not show up in line with the other mailboxes I have. It shows up under a new category "on my mac". Why does this happen? I would prefer that all the mailboxes show up under the icloud category. Is there a way to accomplish this?

When you create a new mailbox you have the choice of where to locate it. You probably (perhaps unintentionally) selected "On My Mac."

If you want it under your iCloud listing (meaning it will be an iCloud mailbox), then create a new mailbox and select <iCloud - yourusername> as the Location.
