Text messaging iPhone 14

On iOS 17, the text message box becomes too large for me to read the message thread behind it when I’m responding to a text message. I can’t minimize the text box to see previous message(s). Anyone else having this issue?

Thank you for your quick response. Here’s a picture to better explain what I mean. As you can see, even when I hide the keyboard I still can’t minimize my response to see the message thread behind it like we could before the iOS 17 update.
