I have come over from Windows and I like my MacBook.
I am having trouble making any window fill the screen.
Is the way to do it - click on the green left button at the top left?
Is there a keyboard shortcut I can press that will dod the same, or maybe something else?

Click the menu bar View option. The drop down menu should show (toward the bottom of the list) "Enter Full Screen" and the command keys shortcut ⌃⌘F. That will be Control-Command-F.

I spent so many years with Windows processes that my MacBook feels like a foreign language to me.
I think it's gonna take a few years to be fluent in how Apple implements things.
