Apple Passcode

”Your iPhone unlock passcode has expired.”

”To change your passcode, first enter your current passcode.”

“CONTINUE”

I don’t recall ever receiving this prompt, and am concerned about a security breach.

Any comments, please?

It sounds like you have a configuration or management profile installed on your iPhone, which is enforcing passcode expiration.

The passcode lives in your device only (not online) and it never expires based on date. Your suspicion about a scam is almost certainly correct.

The only plausible exception might be for a device owned and controlled by your employment. If you think this could be appropriate I recommend checking with your IT security after checking the contact details with your line manager.
