PDFs Restarting and not saving notes/highlights

When I read documents on the files app (typically pdfs); the file restarts/glitches and nothing is saved from edits or highlights. I has happened more and more and not sure why. I have the iOS 17.1.1 and have restarted my iPad a few times.

PDF crashes on markup I own an iPad 9th Gen. I have been facing an issue while I markup on the PDFs in Files. The PDF refreshes itself as soon as I draw anything on it. Sometimes I am not even able to close it because it is in a constant loop of refreshing itself. My files are in iCloud but I tried moving them into the internal storage and annotating but the issue still persists. Also this is happening only with a few of the PDFs. It would be really great if someone could help me out. Thanks

Highlights are disappearing I’ve just bought a new iPad Pro and, as I highlight some parts of a pdf file (in an iCloud folder), it just disappears. Sometimes, it disappears only one part. I’ve just spent the whole evening studying and highlighting an important text, to find out all my annotations and highlights are simply gone! Saved pdf to files then marked up. On restart, all markup gone. Can I get it back? I saved a pdf to my files, them annotated using mark up. I didn’t re-save; I’ve done the same thing many times and it’s saved automatically and hitting save again only creates a duplicate file. But this time when the iPad restarted, all my notes were gone. can I recover that marked up file? And how to keep it from happening again?
