to login, wireless keyboard keys don't work on 24" iMac M-1

Have tried to login on my 24" iMac M-1 that I just purchased using its wireless keyboard. when I press the keys to type in my password, nothing happens. it worked before but hasn't been working recently. how do I fix this problem? My keyboard shows the green light so its ok.

iMac 21.5″, macOS 10.15

Please check following steps


1.Verify that your iMac is connected to the keyboard via Bluetooth.


2.If the keyboard utilizes a USB dongle, attempt connecting the dongle to an alternative USB port on your iMac.


3.Make sure that both your iMac's operating system and Bluetooth firmware are current. If not, update them as needed.
