Why don’t my messages sync between my iPhone and my Mac mini? I’ve Tried every recommendation when searching for this issue, and I always end up with the same problems of things not syncing. WHY is this so difficult?

Are both devices on the same Apple ID? That non-negotiable requirement is pointed out here:

Yes, both my iphone and my computer- Mini- have same ID and yes, text forwarding on my iphone open. I always got my messages on both until couple weeks ago when it suddenly, no reason [ I think ] stopped. I get my messages on my iphone but not my computer.
