'Ill' Logical issues with Sonoma?

Upgraded to Sonoma on my M1 MacBook Pro and also got the new Logic version 10.8. The AI Mastering assistant is INSANE. Like someone took a warm wet blanket off my songs. The bad news is that Logic was acting really funky and randomly and intermittently wouldn't let me record. Only got very quiet tracks of digital static like a ghost of the track I had just put down. Not good. Anybody else have issues? I eventually got so frustrated I deleted Logic and can't get it back for a month (long story). Ugh. Never upgrade when you've got a backlog of songs and sessions with deadlines - even if you're your only client!

Yes! I am having this issue right now. I have a shekere in my hand and am singing a part alternating with the shek. Voice recording is fine, the shekere is completely removed.

I just can’t seem to find where to turn this annoying “feature” off. I’m sure it staring at me but I don’t see it.

I opened a new session with only one audio track. Made sure to remove all plug ins. Same.

on my Ventura Mac everything works as expected. This is only happening on the Sonoma machine.

Ok. In answer to my own question:

Sonoma has “voice isolation” as a choice. Turn it to Standard (orange mic icon in menu bar). All better now.
