touch screen stopped working after last update

This just happened to my wife's iphone 15 max pro when the screen came back from the 17.1.2 update. All buttons work and calls come through to watch, but touch screen is unresponsive. Up volume button then down volume button then hold side button till logo reboots the phone but the touch screen feature is still unresponsive. Any suggestions. (This worked just fine before the update.)

Same thing happened to me! The camera button and flashlight button on the lock screen work but I can't slide the screen up to unlock it (I don't use face id). I can use old notifications on my phone to unlock and use it can't slide the screen up. Looking for a solution
