When certain people send me a text message from their iPhone, the message goes to my iPad instead of my Android phone. Is there something I need to do in my iPad settings or does the sender have to do something?

I ran into this with my wife after I sent her a picture from my iPad to her iCloud account. After that, when she tried to send me a text message it would go to my iPad instead of my Galaxy phone like before. To resolve this, I deleted her iCloud email address on her account info on the iPad. Now things are back to normal.
