Unable to sync iPhone to iTunes since downloading iOS 17.2

Backed up and synced my phone (14) to iTunes on my Win11 laptop Thursday. Downloaded 17.2 Friday, tried to sync this morning. Backs up fine, but keeps “preparing to sync” forever. I’ve tried more than once and also on my Win11 desktop — no dice. Seems like there’s a bug in 17.2, at least for Windows machines.
