Linking Apple devices on Find My without allowing data transfer

Hello - I am a new Mac/Apple user, so forgive my ignorance here.

I recently bought a Mac computer and my daughter's school gave her an iPad, which we added to our "Find My" account.

The Find My function is working just fine and no complaints there.

That said, whenever my daughter uses Google Chrome, my Mac picks it up on our wifi and opens a new Chrome icon (see image below) in the Mac dock, but then it almost instantly closes and reappears (i'm assuming based on her ipad usage).

Is there a way to disable the notifications and any data connections while still maintaining the Find My function?
