Beat flex earbuds showing 0% battery

My Beats Flex earbuds are showing 0% battery on my phone and will not connect. If I “forget them” then reconnect them it show 100% when connected but then when I look them up in settings it shows 0% and I cannot play music to them. But phone shows connected. I tried a reset on the buds but does not fix anything. Not sure what is wrong but sounds like a phone connection issue not the buds issue. Did a new update cause this issue? Anyone else having this problem?
