I am trying to help my kid with a project. we have purchased the song from iTunes and have it downloaded to my MacBook Air. When I search for files in GarageBand I cannot open the file. it is grey. I also can't find any other music I have purchased over the years to try a different song.
Older purchases may have DRM.
How are you getting the track into GB dragging it in seems to work best. iTunes will let you show a tune in the finder so you can drag it.
