How to fix the volume of some instruments in GarageBand?

Hello, I have a very simple question but I don't understand how to do it.

I need to lower the volume of some instruments because they are too loud. The problem is that even when I use the mix function or simply move the slider next to the instrument, once I export, the volumes are not changed. How do I do it?
