Vocal recording duplicating across the track

When I record a vocal on part of a track when I click stop the recorded part is then copied to the rest of the track? I've been using GB for years and have never seen this. I am using GB Version 10.4.11 on an iMac.

Help!

We cannot hear our original track when trying to record over it. Logic Pro X 10.4.6 & OS 10.14.6 Hi, We have recorded a piano audio track, but have made a small mistake. We want to re-record over the mistake, but keep the rest of the track. We can hear the track perfectly when we just play back. During re-recording we want to hear our original recorded piano track and then play over the bit where we made the mistake. We want to remain on the same track (not create a new track) The problem is: When we click record, the original piano track goes silent. But we need to hear it. Can anyone help us with our settings, so that we can hear our original piano audio track when re-recording over it? Many thanks.

Lowering prominence/volume of drums in a song already recorded Hello. Is there a way to lower the volume/prominence on a well-known song’s recording of the drum when I listen to it? I don’t know if the drum is on its own track or with other sounds. Also, does the music app that comes with MacBook Air permit this kind of work? I have MacBook Air from March 2020 before Apple chips were added. Thanks to anyone who can provide some direction! 🙂
