M-Audio interface not working after using Midi Keyboard

Hi, so I've been using the M-Audio M-track solo for ages and it's been working fine until recently I bought an Akai mini play. The programmes that came with it stopped garageband from opening so I deleted them and garageband opens fine. However now my interface wont work. Garageband isn't picking up the sound as it should and is being really crackly/glitchy. I've tried using my interface and cables on a different mac and have also tried a different interface. My settings is picking up the input sound fine so it's definitely a problem within garageband. I've tried deleting my plug-ins, uninstalling and re-installing garageband yet nothing has worked.
