App specific password creation not working

After Friday's AppleID apocalypse (I know I wasn't the only one), where all my devices (2 Macs, an iPhone, an iPad, and my Watch) simultaneously locked my AppleID and I was forced to create a new password. Fortunately, this worked, even though my Watch kept prompting me for a while afterwards. Would be nice to have some clarity as to what happened.

So now I'm trying to re-enable my non-apple email and calendar clients. This requires, of course, creating a new app-specific password. I've tried on my iPad, one of the Macs (in Safari), and on my iPhone, and none are working. Errors vary from rejecting my new password (even though I've already signed in), to cryptic "this isn't working" messages. Fix this.

Yes this is happening to me. Very maddening. Why can't I see the app specific password?! I have a contact calendar app on my imac, mobile, laptop, etc. I was able to generate one on my out of date iMAC but on my newish, up to date laptop I am stuck in a password loop! I am guessing if I had saved the app specific password I could have used it on my multiple computers without incident. Ugh!

The same issue, after the "AppleID apocalypse" and being forced to change my password, I have run into 2 very specific ID issues and one of them is not being able to create App-specific passwords. I have created a couple of App-specific passwords that were always visible from the dashboard, but now everything is empty, and when I try to create a new one I'm constantly getting rejected the new password that I just used to sign in.
