Spacebar key not working on Chrome and Safari in Mac Studio

I recently purchased a new Mac Studio along with a new keypad and magic mouse. I successfully migrated the data from my old Mac Mini. However, when going on Google, Youtube or other sites, I've been having trouble with the space bar in that it will only allow either one space between characters as on Google Search or with YouTube and other sites, no spaces at all between characters are possible. In both instances, a blue border appears around the text area as soon as the space bar key is pressed. This is also happening on other apps as Chrome and Safari. I would appreciate any ideas as to why this is occurring and the remedy. Thanks.
