Not Eligible for refund - first month after trial

Hi,

I accepted the free trial of 3 months and then totally forgot about it. I have now been charged almost 60AUD for below services which i barely used if not at all....

Apple News

Apple Fitness

Apple Arcade

Apple TV

This is the first month charge after the trial period. I cancelled the auto renew on the subscription and lodged a refund as soon as I saw the charges on the account but apple has denied the claim saying not eligible for a refund.

Is this how this works?

Do we not get a chance to decide if we want to continue the trial or not?

Very disappointed with this mode of operation from apple.

Forgetting to cancel a subscription or free trial is not a valid reason for a refund. When you sign up for a free trial, you will have to cancel as least 24 hours before the trial period ends to avoid being charged for a subscription. That is how a free trial works. Now that you are charged for the subscription, make sure to cancel now. You can still use the service until the subscription period end since you have already paid for it, but it now won't renew and there will not be any further charges.
