Create a call out plugin but tracking only one point

Hi guys, I'm trying to create custom call outs in apple motion for using them in fcpx. But I want to achieve something like mcallouts from Motionvfx, where there is one point actually attached to the tracked source but the rest of the graphic (the title, a box, for instance) does not move at all.

Hi Chantus

The motion tracker now available in FCP does not allow for isolated tracking of a layer independent of the other layers like you can do with the Callout products you see from mVFX & FxFactory. These products use a proprietary tracker embedded within the Motion template. You can track an isolated layer within Motion, but you can not publish through the tracker functions to FCP, as it has its own version of the tracker already there.

To add...

The "software" MotionVFX uses is a custom FxPlug. Just about every time FCP is updated, and every time the OS is updated, the FxPlug needs to be updated as well since the templates have a tendency to ***break***.

Manual tracking is an option, a lot easier to implement and doesn't break upon the above listed conditions. All you need to do for that is publish the (usually) Center coordinates of the filter OSC you use so that it can be keyframed in FCP.
