GarageBand Requiring Lower Security Settings to open 3rd Party Plug-Ins

Ventura Version 13.6.6

GarageBan 10.4.11

I was using Waves plug-ins last night and this morning. When I opened GB this afternoon, I was greeted with a notice that there was an available update to fix some bugs, so I downloaded the update (or at least I think I did) Now, when I attempt to open those same plug-ins, I get a notice that they cannot be opened unless I lower my security settings. I've checked Waves' website, and it appears that I have all the latest versions of the plug-ins I've been using. Is it possible that the GB update included tightened security, and if so, why would I want to lower those settings and presumably compromise the safety that they provide. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Are the plug-ins threat free. This is very frustrating because I justed started using those plug-ins and they are exactly what I was looking for. One additional fact, Melodyne still works. Please help! Thanks.
