Apple home grouping accessories

I am trying to group two meross mini plugs that are controlling table lamps into one icon on the Apple Home Screen. By going into the settings page for one of the sockets, I click on group accessories. Sadly every time I tick the two items in the list the ‘done’ button on the top right stays greyed out and so cannot proceed to create the group.
