Unknown folder showing up on my iMac Pro

YooHOO icon appears on my desktop - I don't know what it is - anyone any ideas please.

I know it's a great song....

Random folders keep appearing on desktop I've asked this question before and I was told that it must be an app I have installed. This is a new computer. I don't have any apps other than what came with the computer. Every time I turn the computer on I get these folders that are labeled things like "af" "e2" "bd". This is getting extremely annoying and it's clear to me now that this is an apple issue as I've seen people complain on this forum about it and there have been no resolutions. The content of these folders is all the same. and it appears that they are items that should actually be on my desktop.

Random user named carroll on computer Hi! I have a random user folder on my computer named carroll. I looked it up recently and other people have seen the same thing on their computer and they think it’s from zoom. I’ve used zoom before for college but I just noticed the folder a little while ago and I haven’t used zoom recently so I’m not sure if zoom is the cause of it or not. I don’t know much about computers so I’m not sure what’s in it but after constantly clicking through it I came across something that said x86_64 and there’s a bunch of blank files that I can’t open. Also, it’s just a folder, there isn’t an actual user on my computer named Carroll. I’m not too worried I’m just curious about what it is. My Mac is fairly old and the version is 10.13.6 High Sierra.

How do I know if a hidden folder appearing in my iMac Finder is legitimate? The following folder just appeared in my "Apps" list in my IMac Finder: IACPLHttpTransferClient. I searched and saw that it might be a hidden folder becoming visible, so I went to the Terminal utility and typed "defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles False; killall Finder". This had no effect and the folder is still there. I suspect it's legit, but would love some confirmation before deleting it. [Re-Titled by Moderator]

Select it and then choose Get Info from the File menu.

Yes, that appears to be a 128GB external drive, that has been named “YooHOO”.
